Volunteering

The Shepherd Centre needs the help of volunteers at its five centres and head office throughout the year in a range of practical and professional roles.

Current volunteering opportunities include:

• Renovating/maintaining the gardens at our centres
• Helping at our Residential Workshop Program
• Assisting the fundraising team with the organisation of mass participation fundraising event Loud Shirt Day (event takes place 14th May 2010)
• Helping the fundraising team at fundraising events such as gala dinners or golf days
• Skilled volunteering opportunities at our head office, e.g. marketing, PR, HR, finance, office management

Recent Volunteers at TSC

Deloitee - IMPACT Day 2011

On Friday 12 November 2010, 18 members of the Graduate Corporate and International Tax team from Deloitte spent the day volunteering at the Darlington and Roseville centres as part of the Deloitte Australia’s Impact Day. The volunteers helped with various jobs around the offices such as cleaning windows, weeding the gardens & general tidying and cleaning of the office.

Disney

In June, over 40 volunteers from Disney's head office came to give our Sydney Centre a makeover. In just one day they had given the centre's playroom, coridoors and garden a fresh new child friendly look. Their hard work has made a real difference to children and families who visit the centre.
